Board President
Deborah Van Dyke, NP, MPH
Founder and Director, Global Health Media Project
Deb has 25 years experience as a family nurse practitioner in the United States, with added experience in birthing as a midwife. She is a clinician, trainer and humanitarian aid project coordinator. Since 1993 she has worked internationally on 15 field missions (most often with MSF/Doctors Without Borders) in conflict and post-conflict settings in Asia, Central Asia, and Africa in some of the most remote, challenging and resource-poor regions in the world. She brings broad clinical expertise, rare frontline experience, a knack for distilling “need to know” information from complex concepts and a deep commitment to raising the learning “bar” for health workers. Working side-by-side with practitioners has given Deb an in-depth understanding of their training needs. Deb received her Nurse Practitioner (MSN) degree from the Yale School of Nursing in 1986 and her Master in Public Health (MPH) from the Harvard School of Public Health in 1993.
