Birth videos in new emergency obstetric courses

Several of our childbirth videos are included in new e-learning courses on life-saving emergency obstetric care. The courses—available on the World Continuing Education Alliance (WCEA) platform—have been designed for midwives and other frontline maternity care providers. They can be used for both pre-service education and continuing professional development.

The courses cover the leading causes of maternal death: sepsis, prolonged and obstructed labor, postpartum hemorrhage, and pre-eclampsia and eclampsia. Global Health Media videos are included in each topic. The courses are available in English, with Spanish, French, and Portuguese versions following soon.

This new series was developed by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), in collaboration with the Johnson & Johnson Center for Health Worker Innovation, the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM), and the World Continuing Education Alliance (WCEA).  The WCEA announcement is available at this link.
