Carole Parker


Carole Parker is a founding partner of Fifth Letter Solutions, consulting to private and public clients on technology, policy, and finance to advance clean energy, address climate change, and spur economic competitiveness. She has over 30 years of experience working on environmental policy as a journalist, legislative staff, and political appointee at Department of Defense, Environmental Protection Agency, and U.S. Congress. At DoD, Carole directed the Office of Pollution Prevention managing and reducing the use of toxic chemicals in the military. Previously she served as Director of Communications for DoD Environmental Security, EPA Congressional Liaison, and senior legislative staff for Senate Appropriations and House Energy and Commerce Committees.

Carole has led strategic initiatives to ban smoking at the Pentagon, give communities a right-to-know about toxic chemicals, defend California’s climate change law, and to launch The Environmental Forum.
