The Story of Coronavirus (Part 1) just released

As we release The Story of Coronavirus (Part 1), Covid-19 is surging in many regions across the world, with more than 50 million confirmed cases and over 1.2 million deaths. Countries that successfully suppressed initial outbreaks are now seeing infections rise again.

Now more than ever, this animated film is needed to provide relevant and lifesaving information to communities across the world. By making the invisible coronavirus visible, it helps people immediately grasp how easily the disease is transmitted. And by communicating lifesaving prevention practices in simple and visual ways, it helps people make necessary behavior changes to protect themselves and others and slow the spread of the disease.

The Story of Coronavirus is being developed in collaboration with award-winning animator Yoni Goodman, who also partnered with us on our cholera and Ebola animations (viewed hundreds of millions of times). The content has been reviewed by experts from CDC, IFRC and UNICEF.

We are grateful to TEPHINET, Latter-day Saint Charities, IFRC and our individual and family donors for their generous funding support.

Part 1 of the animation covers how the virus is spread and ways to protect oneself and others. Part 2—available soon—will continue with a story about a family caring for their sick mother.
