Breastfeeding is a very effective way to prevent pregnancy after birth as long as: the baby is less than 6 months old; he is breastfeeding day and night with no other fluids and foods; and the woman’s monthly bleeding has not returned. This video tells how you can use breastfeeding to prevent pregnancy after birth, following the guidelines known as the Lactational Amenorrhea Method (LAM). When you follow the guidance carefully, it’s as effective as the injection or the pill.
