New video on thermal care
Our newest video—Keeping the Baby Warm—is now available in English, French, and Spanish. Hypothermia in newborns is still a common problem and it contributes to the high neonatal mortality rate in the developing world. This video includes the 10 steps in the “warm chain.” It will help health workers gain an awareness of the importance of keeping newborn babies warm by simple methods such as drying and covering them immediately after birth, encouraging early breastfeeding, and keeping babies in skin-to-skin contact with their mothers.
